Refreshing, Zesty, and Easy to Make
Ingredients
- 2 large lemons
- 150 g (5 oz) fresh ginger root
- 1 liter (4 cups) water
- 3–4 tablespoons honey (optional, adjust to taste)
Instructions
- Wash the lemons and ginger thoroughly.
- Slice the lemons into thin rounds, removing any seeds.
- Peel and slice the ginger into thin pieces.
- Bring the water to a gentle boil in a saucepan.
- Add the ginger and simmer for 15–20 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and let it cool for about 10 minutes.
- Add the lemon slices and let the mixture steep for another 10 minutes.
- Strain the liquid through a fine-mesh sieve.
- Stir in the honey while the drink is still warm, if using.
- Pour into clean bottles or jars and refrigerate.
How to Serve
- Drink ½ to 1 cup (120–240 ml) chilled or warm.
- Shake well before serving if natural sediment forms.
Storage
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 5–7 days in a sealed bottle.
