Ingredients:
- 1 teaspoon black cumin seeds (Nigella sativa)
- 2 cups (500 ml) filtered water
- 1 teaspoon raw honey (optional)
- 1 teaspoon fresh lemon juice (optional)
- A small slice of fresh ginger (optional)
- 2–3 fresh mint leaves (optional)
Instructions:
- Rinse the black cumin seeds under cool water.
- Bring 2 cups of water to a gentle boil.
- Add the black cumin seeds and the ginger, if using.
- Reduce the heat and simmer for 10–15 minutes.
- Remove from the heat and let the drink steep for another 5 minutes.
- Strain into a cup or pitcher.
- Stir in the honey and lemon juice while the drink is warm.
- Garnish with fresh mint leaves if desired.
- Serve warm or chilled over ice.
- Store any leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours and shake well before serving.
