Soft & Fluffy Garlic Herb Skillet Bread
Ingredients
- 3 cups (375 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons instant dry yeast
- 1 cup (240 ml) warm milk
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- ½ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
- Extra butter for brushing
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add the warm milk and olive oil, then mix until a soft dough forms.
- Knead the dough for 8–10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the dough rise in a warm place for about 1 hour, or until doubled in size.
- Mix the melted butter with the minced garlic, chopped parsley, and oregano.
- Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and shape each into a small round flatbread about ½ inch (1 cm) thick.
- Brush both sides lightly with the garlic herb butter.
- Heat a non-stick skillet over medium-low heat and cook each bread for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Brush with a little more garlic butter immediately after cooking for extra flavor.
- Serve warm with soups, salads, grilled meats, or your favorite dipping sauce.
